Garlic is very good for lowering the cholesterol in blood... increase your intake of fresh fish (in particular herring, mackeral, tuna & salmon)....
my parents use the benecol stuff... dont know how good it is tho.
There is plenty you can do diet wise to help yourself (as per the links above i'm sure)...Most likely it will mainly involve irradicating anything processed from your diet - processed food usually contains high levels of salt and bad saturated fats.0 -

Take note also that my link was simply one piece of research and only lasted six months. Maybe for a year? Maybe keep going for a couple of years and would the story and conclusion still be the same?

plus I suppose if you are increasing your intake of something like garlic you are (hopefully) most likely to do that by cooking with fresh ingredients, from scratch .. which is obviously a step in the right direction!

Mine went from 5.7 to 4.2, which sounds ok but it's not because of my HDL & LDL ratio which is what matters more than the total :!!0
