Would anybody know what the equivalent value is for the U.S measurement system.
Thanks
Might be worth asking whether he can be checked for being Hypothyroid.
High cholestorol is usually a good indicator of this.0 -

I've just been diagnosed with High Cholesterol ... the nurse said it was a 7!
I'm not all that up on cholesterol, so does anyone have any ideas what I should be doing and what I shouldn't be doing.
Doctor/nurse haven't been much help, just said "cut down on fat".
Are there any specific diets I should be on?
Are there any diets on this board that you can direct me to please?
Your help would be appreciated.

I'd like to have my cholesterol checked - not for any particular reason, just because I'd like to know (!)
I'm overweight at the moment (BMI about 28), and am on a healthy eating plan with exercise. I've lost 1.5stone with this plan slowly and surely, however does weight directly affect a cholesterol reading? Or is it more to do with the food you eat?
Where could I get it done for cheap (or free - here's hoping!!)?
Thanks!0 -
why not speak with your GP surgery. many run well people clinics and would check your BP etc too.
diet can affect cholesterol levels, but some people have high cholesterol levels whatever their diet is like ..or their body weight for that matter.x x x0 -

Boots were doing them for free last year for over 45's. I don't know if they still are but it might be worth popping into a branch and asking.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0
