    Thanks all.

    Much appreciated.

As I have accounts with a couple of building suppliers, I'll see what they can offer.

Did they say how much extra insulation you would need?

It does seem that some LA's are happy with Triso Super 10, others are not. We are desperate to use it on a barn conversion so that we don't affect the inside of the building in the part where it has a vaulted ceiling, just lay it over and build up with batons for the ventilation gap.

I wonder if it's worth laying the Triso Super 10 AND more Kingspan or whether the entire point is defeated and you just go completely with the conventional method?

Out of interest, is £8.50 per square metre a reasonable price for Super 10?

Found a man the other day at the homebuilding and renovating show who sells Kingspan seconds :o All complies to the relevant building regs but just has minor imperfections. Was quoting us £24.48 + VAT per board for underfloor insulation (90/100?) - would work out cheaper if we were happy to lay 2x thinner boards?

I'm not exactly up on my insulation but you might get something for your loft! the web address is www.secondsandco.co.uk

Also, speaking to a Kingspan rep, he said to check on their website for their local distributors and buy straight from them rather than a merchant who obviously needs to add their cut on top. ;)
