Flew with them to Skiathos in October 06. The flight iself was fine, staff nice. The return flight was cancelled (last flight home of the season, there were only 6 of us on the outbound flight!!!) so we had to fly to Birmingham. But to their credit they kept us well informed and put us all on a pleasant enough coach back to Manchester.

  • Hi, we flew to Tobago with XL in March 08, outbound flight 9 1/2 hrs and 8 1/2 back. Flights were OK, outbound had good leg room (I am 6'4") on the way back slightly less but OK. And to be fair for 1/2 the price of any other ticket I could find I felt it was a real bargain. Both flights left on time and arrived early!!
Don't expect great food or free drinks but you get what you pay for.
  • I travelled on what should have been a direct 5 hour flight with them.
Unfortunately after takeoff a problem was found with the plane, we then had to circle over England for a couple of hours to dump fuel until we finally landed in Gatwich (we flew from Stansted) where the plane could be fixed. We were left to roam the airport with no guidance where to go, no food or drink or info on when another flight would be arranged (this may've been due to their plane being charted by another company who we bought the tickets from) both companies kept shifting blam onto the other. Eventually another plane was brought over. This one made a lot of noise which panicked some people but that was probably down to the whole expereince. We eventually arrived at our destination hours late.

It all boils down to luck. They have new aircraft in their fleet and old ones that they bought from an american airline that bit the dust ( air atlanta i think it was).

I have only been to the med and canaries with them ( several times) , but found them as good as any other Uk charter airline.
