Hey, thanks for taking the time to read my dilemma!
This morning I tried to transfer a lot (to me) of money from my Natwest account to my ICICI Hisave account and now I am worrying that I have done something wrong and that I was not actually allowed to do that.
The Natwest account is not my linked account, so I think I have gone wrong and I am very very very worried and getting myself upset about it. What shall I do? and have I actually gone wrong or do you think it will be ok?
If anyone could help me I would be really appreciative,
Tink

Provided you specified the correct sort code & account number for your ICICI account, you should be fine.
With ICICI the "usual" way is to "pull" the money into your ICICI account from your linked account via a Direct Debit (ie: you login to ICICI to initiate the transfer). This has the added advantage that you are not loosing interest on your money while it works its way thru the BACS transfer process.0 -

You should have a word with them on the phone. See what they say.
You could ask them if it might be possible to go on line to ICICI HiSAVE and quickly change your linked account and make it the Nat West one.
It's not as if you are taking money out of your HiSAVE and trying to put it into a non-linked account. That would be absolutely sacriligious for us to hear that this is possible!!!0 -
It's not a problem:
8. Can I make an online transfer from a bank other than my linked account to my HiSAVE Savings Account?
Yes, you may make a transfer to your HiSAVE Savings Account from any other bank other than your linked current account. However, you may only send funds to your linked current account and not to any other bank account.Do Something Amazing - Give Blood0 -

This will serve two purposes; firstly you will be testing the conduit with an amount you can afford to lose (for a while if the worst happens), and secondly you'll know how long it'll take (so you can time future payments to avoid weekends etc).0 -

yes that is exactly what i do, i was afraid of getting it wrong too!! and so i transfered £5 over to an account that i had added and it went through fine and i knew exactly how long it took to show up in the other account.0
