Cheapest internet phones plus free worldwide calls

Got this cordless VoIP phone almost a year ago. I have no problems using it and calling landlines abroad. In fact it is better than a £10 headset I've got at work. When I bought it it was locked to Skype but you did get a couple of pounds included in a voucher if I remember correctly.
I've got no landline and use cable for my broadband, so the cost saving by using VoIP phone is huge. I think I pay less than 1/2 the cost currently compared to having landline + broadband. The sound quality of the calls are sometimes not as good as a normal landline, but it's not too much of an issue.
I would defo recommend people to start using/try Skype (or any other VoIP provider - Skype is by far the most common, and as long as the different software companies can't figure out a way to interact with eachother I will continue using Skype as most of my friends are on it). The cost cutting - especially if you call abroad - is massive and the applications are not difficult to install or use.0 -
Are you sure about this not needing the PC turned on? EBuyer comments suggest otherwise. If you are right, its a fantastic device! If you already have a very nice DECT phone that you use to make calls over a BT landline (PSTN) then you only need buy an ATA adaptor that will
let you use the same phone over VOIP, the beauty of this device is that your PC doesn't need to be turned on:

Me too, I don`t use them anymore (other than for skpe to skype calls )after realising quite late that they`re more expensive! I use the likes of voipdiscount and voipcheap etc and get 150 mins free calls a week both domestic and intl. If I go over 150 mins it starts using your 10 euro credit but even then it`s still cheaper per min than skype
I'm also a former paid Skype user until I found out that I'm paying more than other voip providers or even some prepaid phone card companies. Now I use Onesuite.com for all my long distance calling needs either via their voip or as a long distance phone card. I use Skype exclusively for those friends who insist on using Skype.0
