Joint current accounts?

I am moving in with my long-term girlfriend as we both start graduate jobs in September. We are looking to set up a joint bank account to pay rent and household expenditure. Are there any restrictions on which accounts can be held in joint names? E.g. would it be possible to sign up for A&L Premier Plus jointly, since our rent is £1000 per month and so we would easily pass the lower limit.
If not, what is the best deal for a couple with joint income of about £45,000?

You should be alright with an A&L Prem+ account in joint names. However forum feedback about customer service is pretty bad, and they're taking a long time to process some applications.
You could also approach your current bank(s) & see what they can do.0 -
Do you bank with A&L now?
If all you are looking for is a bills account IMO it would be easier to open with one of your present bankers.
