Hi all, can I just lay my granite hearth on top of laminate floor? or does it actually need to bed to the floor ????

I would have thought it needs to be bedded to the floor. Granite is very heavy, laminate would not hold it.
Also, if you ever want to change the floor you'd have to remove the hearth.0 -
Should be bedded to the floor. I know with Slate and stone etc you should use a lime based mix to allow for expansion, but I'm not so sure on granite.
