scs sofas problem

Hi all, your comments most welcome...
I ordered a 3+1+1 sofa from scs a couple of months back. Upon getting home, we changed out mind and wanted a 3+2. I telephoned scs the next morning, and the lady said that would be fine and they would amend my order.
Ive just had a telephone call saying delivery will be this week. i confirmed what they have for me & it was the 3+1+1
scs deny any knowledge of a amend to the order
i paid a 10% deposit and agreed to a 12 month 0% credit agreement.
scs say they will deliver the 3+1+1 and not change it
does my credit agreement still stand as i have not yet recieved the order?

Hello leesave
I'll move your thread to 'The (Consumer) Vent' board.

i have no idea?! maybe you could ring up like 1000 times, or refuse delivery?!0
-
I'd refuse delivery if you know they are going to send the wrong item - no point creating extra headache in haveing to get something collected later as I see it.
Was there a "we record calls for training purposes" kind of thing when you called, if so refer them to their recording.
Also if the call is shown on your phone bill the day after you were in the shop that would also work in your favour IMHO
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

Hi
I know this is not particularly helpful at this stage, but if it's something important I never rely just on phone calls.
The person you've just spoken to could be distracted by someone else speaking to them and forget all about actioning your request.
I ordered similar from DFS a while ago in leather and it was specially made.
Do you know if your order is from stock or is a special order?
Is there any way you can get into the store personally before delivery is scheduled as I think this is something that needs resolving face-to-face.
Good luck0 -
As your order was not amended in writing (if changing it by phone, you should have asked them to send out confirmation paperwork asap), then if you don't accept the order, you might loose your 10% deposit.
Did you take the name of the person you spoke to who changed it, and the time of the call? They might be able to track it, but because there was no paperwork, it'll be your word against theirs.
I'd just go with the 3+1+1 and put it down to experience!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
update... scs have offered to refund me my 10% deposit if i accept the delivery. The woman was very apologetic and helpful.
They will be delievering the suite of Friday
Considering i had been silly enough not to get my order changed in writing then this is a good comprimise, i believe.0 -
Lee, I'm glad to hear you've got a resolution to this that you're happy with, and a 10% discount too.
The best thing that can happen now is to get your 3+1+1 suite in and realise that a 3+2+1 would have made the room too crowded anyway! :j
