from America

I don't know if this is in the right place to post but I need some help in paying for something from America, they don't accept paypal and can't take an English (sterling) cheque.

Does anyone know of a way I could convert English money into an American dollars cheque or any other way around this. I don't want to send dollars through the post in case they get lost. thanks

I don't know if you've sorted this but I understand that your bank can write a banker's draft in dollars for you which would have to be drawn on a bank in the US. This is usually your own bank's partner bank in the States or the US branch if it's a big bank.

Swift transfer- like an international CHAPS payment. You will need their IBAN (they can get it from their bank) and your bank will arrange the transfer. They will, of course, charge you for this.
