Extending the use of card readers

I was wondering if anyone knows about banks extending the use of card readers. I have a Natwest account and was sent a card reader to make payments over the internet. I find it very inconvenient to have to have both my card and this machine with me to make any payment or set any direct debts etc up. So what I end up doing is calling the bank and getting them to do this. I am not sure if the banks have realised how this will limit peoples use of the internet and start us all calling them again. Thanks

    I got one from Barclays last month. I find it a bit of a palaver but I don't use that account much anyway.

    Natwest sent me one of those card reader things, and a card with a different style of chip to go with it.

    With the new card, it blocked the PIN everytime I used it in an ATM.

    After four replacements, I switched to Lloyds TSB.

    Hey Bill, I also have this problem, I have now ordered my 5th card reader, the previous ones all blocked the PIN too :mad: I've had replacement cards too, absolute nightmare! At least you only need to use it for new payments. My GF has to use the Barclays card reader to log in, now thats annoying!

    @Adaze:

    My problem was more than that though... even using the new card in an ATM blocked it!
