is there any chance it may be stuck? Gently try to prize it open while clicking eject. it may be a bit sticky.

Attack it with a paperclip?? There is usually a tiny wee hole somewhere on the front of the drive. A paperclip is the best size - it is the manual release for things like cd/dvd drives. Good luck!!

could it be that the dvd has come loose and is jamming it. try holding it with the dvd drive at the top, give it a shake (gentle) and try again....
