I had a lovely eyeshadow from the Opia range at Primark for just £1 with 4 shades in it. There were lots more items in the range which are great value. Also, it's nicely packaged so you wouldn't be ashamed to be seen with it!SPC #229= £103.76(2014)
VSP #11 = £74.11(2014) £85.55 (2015)
Crazy Clothes Challenge 2014 £33/£100, 2015 £44 / £100
DFBXmas2015 #10 £3000 / £3,000 (100%) :j

I know everyone is recommending Palmer's cocoa butter but I find it way too thick and it leaves my skin really greasy. Boots own brand cocoa butter and mallow is much nicer and a bit cheaper.
The little pots of Vaseline are a brilliant lip balm I second the vote for them, and Collection 2000 do a really good kohl eyeliner that's about £1.99. If you use face powder I also can't recommend Corn Silk highly enough, I've been using it for years it's brilliant.
My latest discovery is a concealer my friend introduced me to. It's a Virgin cosmetics one called correct & perfect. I think it's quite new. It's £10 for a little pot but you only need the tiniest bit. It's got a lilac shade to put on dark circles and a green shade to cover blemishes then two skin coloured concealers to pat one the top. It's fantastic! I've tried loads in the past as I have awful skin and this is by far the best I've tried.0 -
angel81uk, I wanna say a huge thanks too for your detailed advice. I'd been umm-ing and ahh-ing over Crown Brush for a couple of weeks (I saw their stall at the Vitality Show)... I'm gonna give them a go
It frustrates me no end though that on their US website the brushes are literally half the price.... but last time I checked about shiping, they just directed me to the UK sitedon't blow out other people's candles to make your own burn brighter...0 -

Funny you should say that, I tried a pot of Boots one as like you say it's even cheaper... but it just didn't do anything to soften my skin or rid that slightly tight after shower feeling. It just kinda wet it and didn't soak in.
Would you class your skin as dry?don't blow out other people's candles to make your own burn brighter...0 -

That's the one I use. If you go to Savers it's much cheaper than anywhere else as well.0 -
Let me recommend Boots Petroleum Jelly from the baby goods counter, priced at just under £2.00 for a big green tub (300ml). I have been using this as a moisturiser for years and years (more than I care to remember actually), for face, hands and body. Its really great, is hypo-allergenic, fragrance-free and is easy to apply without leaving the awful stickiness that Vaseline in a tub does.0

My recommendations are:
Blistex Relief Cream for lips - Meant to be for occasional cold sores and really chapped lips, but I use it all the time. My lips get really dry and other lip balms or vaseline just seem to slide off and make them even drier! I also keep a pot of the Blistex MedPlus lip balm handy.
Rimmel Instant Tan Makeup for face and body - Use this when I need an instant tan as looks really natural and can be layered on to get a good colour. Don't use it when it rains though as washes off quite easily!
Dove Summer Glow - Use this is I want a tan and know it's gonna rain (see above)! Smells nice and is a good moisturiser, but also doesn't streak and gives even coverage.
Rimmel eye and eyebrow pencils - The eye pencils are nice and soft (tried lots of others and they tend to catch on my skin) and blend easily and the eyebrow pencils have a nifty little brush on the end for blending.
Garnier Pure A Daily Treatment Moisturiser - I have really greasy skin and find this is the only moisturiser light enough to prevent me from going shiny all over, but moisturising enough for the drier areas.
At the moment, these are the only products I continually buy...0 -
Definetely agree with this and I'm one of those people!!
To name a few off the top of my head:
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream
YSL Touche Eclat
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
Shu Umera eyelash curlers
Tweezerman tweezers
Clinique 3 step (a few years back)
All cost a fortune!
Oh my God...I am so one of those people sucked in and I have so tried many of the products on that list and could add another half dozen!
In fairness, I tried Liz Earle C&P before I saw any hype on it as my Mum bought it for me as a gift and I do think it really suits my skin. Having said that I will try the Tesco version since it might well be the technique that suits me rather than the actual product.
This is a fabulous thread- my two penneths worth would be L'Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss shampoo and conditioner (pink bottle) as it leaves my hair so soft. I much prefer it to more expensive brands.
Also I tried Boots Natural Collection Lip Gloss in an Apricot type colour and it's lovely. Moisturising and glossy without being sticky and only £1.99 (it reminds me of Clinique Superbalm which is £10 for the same size tube).
