Vauxhall Signum
What are people's opinion on these cars please? Does anyone own or know anyone that has owned one? They look to me like a car that has all the bells and whistles but for some reason are terrible at holding their price, any reason for this?
I know that used to have big engines but over the last few years have a 1.9diesel which I like the look of.
Thanks,
Pete.

My brother said he looked at one of these (he buys new cars often) and although it has all the bells and whistles he was not impressed with the finish... said it felt tatty compared to what he usually buys... can't help with why they don't hold the price though#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I have one and I am tearing at the heartstrings to consider selling it. It is a semi exec hatch - a niche that really doesnt exist in the UK - but as a large semi estate family car it is supurb. The finish is OK and I have no complaints and the flex seating in the rear is great. The travel assist is a good item (fridge and rear tables) and I like the understated (!!!!!! is it) looks it gets. Never buy it new though as depreciation in the first few years is steep as the market views it as an odd Vectra. I can rate the 3.0 CDTi engine fully and the 1.9 is also a good unit. The only 2 niggles I have had are side wind noise intrusion and slightly nose heavy handling - mind you - it is a big engine under the hood.
Oh - a few subtle changes to the standard on mine though!
My in-laws have an Audi A4 Avant, the Signum is bigger, more practical boot, faster, cheaper, cheraper to service and in my in-laws case more reliable!. The Audi though retains its value and seats 5 (just) - The Signum is a 4 seater.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!

That's a loverly motor oldagetraveller can you tell me do they do a dog guard for the back to seperate the boot from the back seat as we have a 2month old little girl and a loopy Springer spaniel which I'd like to keep seperate!
Also do they have the Isofix fixings for a baby seat?
Thanks,

Nice car though and appears well looked after.
Do I spy a Holden badge on the front?
Plates are now off the car, ran it with the same plates on 2 cars for over 6 years!
Its debadged with Holden grille and tuning box. Apart from that it is pretty standard. It is usually garaged and polished, but is currently being used - SHOCK!
I've not seen a dog guard fitted but I think they did do one, might be awkward as the rear seats recline and move forward/back so that may be limited once it is fitted. think there are ISOFIX fixings in there too.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
