  • They could certainly do with coming with a big warning on the screen:
"DEBT MUST BE REPAID - THE VENDOR WILL PROFIT FROM YOUR INDEBTEDNESS"

    Won't happen though.

i actually heard this the other day, think i was in the kitchen so didn't see what it was for - i actual thought it for for a family type thing - like the bisto ads for a family nite. Boy, was i wrong!
My lot are also obssed by tv ads but always ask if they can have certain toys for their birthday or eid coz i have told them they can only get pressies on special occassions! works so far - but they are only 3 and 5!
  • There are a lot of families on big big incomes. The big incomes are normally due to long hours or away from home. Our society is based on what we own. Its easier for a parent to give something than to say no. Its lazy parenting and devalues gifts. It also teaches them to want more becuase they can have it by whining.

We are all gulity of it in some ways. Trouble is a lot of people on here have fallen into the trap without having the money first - me included.

I really don't think kids in Spain and France are like that, or am I deluded? They other european countries do seem to have a low opinion of our kids behaviour etc.

I have to agree with you on that one, my parents have a place in France so we spent many summers over there when I was growing up and their French friends are shocked at how kids act over here. They couldnt believe that we got pocket money for doing chores and I had many friends over there that would pick fruit and roses in the summer for money, but they all found it fun and were grateful for anything their parents gave them.

Must admit made me appreciate my parents a lot more too!:D
