Not in debt and have a mortgage, although that will be gone soon by the looks of it as we've sold our house and haven't found another one to buy yet!

I used to be in masses of unsecured debt (about 20k) and it was the most stressful thing ever, sleepless nights and nothing to look forward to. I found this site and my girlfriend and I started to work out a budget and rein in our expenditure using the advice on here. It took a few years, but it's a wonderful feeling when you get out from under the clouds! Stick with it people, you'll soon wonder what you ever had to worry about.

    I am a Mortgage Adviser

You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice.

It's why I've phrased the poll unsecured debt. :)

As you are probably aware, secured and unsecured debt are significantly different. :)
