Hard drive with large red cross

Using XPpro when I go into my computer there is a large red cross by the side of drive c:, does this siognify something,
Also I cannot delete Nero from my Pc using uninstall in XP, is there any way to force a deletion of the prog and it's contents.

Run ComboFix:

1. Close any open browsers.
2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
3. Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
