smart trousers, shirt & tie for the first few days; then smart trousers & open necked shirt or open necked shirt and jumper for at least the first month.
after that, you'll have a good idea of how the organisation functions and your team's role in it.

Give them a call and ask the chap/girl that answers the 'phone. Explain that you want to make a good impression and are looking forward to working there.
Either that or hang about the office at closing time (you do run the risk of getting arrested if it's a dodgy area !)It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -

If you wore a suit to the interview and received the advice about "not too smart" perhaps that was a hint that the suit was indeed more than they would think was appropriate.

Its in the creative industry, so dress code would suggest smart/casual, I would leave jeans and trainers for a while until you suss out what is expected.
Although when I joined a new media company, I was told to leave the suit at home as I looked too stiff :rolleyes:, and wear jeans and tees.0
