Thanks everyone. But sorry, you've lost me. Ok, i have checked the downstairs radiators and the return pipe (the side with the lock shield-valve) for most of the radators are fairly-hot. But, the flow pipe is freezing cold.

After, turning all the radiator valves off around the house, i put all the energy into the downstairs radiators, now they are just luke-warm.

Once again, thanks!!! and have you got any more suggestions?

My diverter valve is a 3-way one, i have removed it and checked it out and it is working fine. I have also bleeded the pump via the big screw and only water comes out, no air. I have also turned the thing inside the pump and it moves freely.

    Hi

What speed is the pump on? It's on the black plate on the side 1, 2, 3,

My educated guess is that you have an Air-lock, best to drain down completley, includeing the down stairs rads.It is important to drain the lower rads otherwise it will trap air at the top of the drops.

If the water is very dirty/black you have a sludge in the sysytem and need a powerflush.

Your pump wont push pass a block of air, or sludge.

    Hi

If you turn the cylinder stat down until it clicks off ,turn the boiler stat down low (just above minimum) .Run the c/h. Change the pump speed from 1 to 3. Listen to the system on the different speeds.Does the system seem to respond to the different speeds? Do you hear any air gurgling around. ? Turn off the
upstairs rads and all but one of the downstairs rads.(pump on No3)
Follow the pipework from the pump. Is there a 15mm pipe that seems to go nowhere (or maybe runs back into the return from the cylinder) with a red handle gate valve on it. If you do this could be a bypass.(a short circuit.)Turn off the gate valve.

Or you could post a photo.
