Which card should I get? Advice please

Just reading MS to find the best card for me. But thought I would like some credit cards experts advice whilst I read Martins guide.

I am planning to do a BSc with the Open University. I do not want to use their rigid system of loan to pay for the courses. Their rate is around 8.5%.

So I would like to have a card with a very low interest rate on purchases which will stay low to pay for the courses.
I expect to clock up around £1200 - £1600 per year on course fees for the next 4 to 6 years as studying part time. I am looking to pay off each course over 3 to 4 months.

Then I thought why not also look at chashback cards!?

But what is better? Or is there one which does both?

You could use a card that offers 0% on purchases but this offer period is normally quite short, have a look at Sainsburys/Tesco see what they are offering.
Alternatively you could have a card like the MBNA(A&L/Virgin) as these cards have a long 0% offer on Balance Transfers but allow you to BT the credit limit straight into your bank account ,very usedful as then you can send it to where you like ie.the O.U.
If you take all of the limit and send it to your bank account then pay for your course any left over stash in a high interest account until the end of the offer period repay the money and what is left in the savings account ie.interest is yours so that will help go towards your cse fees.
MBNA cards also allow you to pay a lower minimum payment each month ie.£25 for Virgin and £5 for A&L so this also helps to reduce outgoings.
Hope that makes things a little clearer.

Best option is to pay by a different 0% on purchases credit card each year.

Some (eg Co-op) also give cashback on your purchases.

Thanks for that. I have been looking round and it seems that even the credit cards are running out with their cheap rates.

I think I will just use my regular card and then BT it to one of my others. I will look into Bokkens suggestion. I now need to find a very good savings account which is located in the UK with quick access or a cheque book.

Look at the internet savings accounts with instant access I have used Sainsbury's,ING and Icesave obviously check the rates before wasting time opening the wrong account.Importantly they have English speaking call taker that know what it is that you want to acheive.
