Declare yourself bankrupt, problem sorted, dont get into that much of silly debt again!

No, they cannot turn off your air supply either, sorry just a little sarcasm for a Sunday night, there are many choices and roads you can take, what ever happens your credit will be damaged for 6 years, like I said declare yourself bankrupt if you cannot see the wood for the tree's, keep it simple, black and white, don’t let it control your life, at the end of the day it is only money, if you don’t want bailiffs to take your stuff, move it into the loft or into a friends house, don’t give these scum bags the pleasure of watching your misery as they walk away with your stuff, hope you get it sorted.

Ah same old same old, they have closed down Gateshead market now and there pulling it down, along with the Trafalgar pub and the old "get carter" multi storey car park, can’t wait though Gateshead is really drab and dirty these days, cant wait to see the new skin.
    :T

Bankruptcy would inevitably lead to losing your house, not a good option IMO.

However, as the OP has said the Credit Card debt is unsecured and it is not always that easy for them ensure they get repaid.

Burying your head in the sand is no good either though - CCJ's are not good, and one way or another the bailiffs WILL get entry and WILL take your possessions, they can be very sneaky these bailiffs.

The best option is to take the bull by the horns, tell the Credit Card companies that you cannot meet their minimum payments and wish to agree a payment plan. You would surprised how far payments can be reduced aswell as possibly freezing interest and charges.

Also should they take you to court, the courts look so much more favourably on debtors who are making SOME effort to pay back their debts, even if its only as £1 a week. Provided the courts can see that this effort is being made, they are unlikely to send in the bailiffs.

The CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau) are an excellent service for those with debt problems, and will negotiate with creditors. They also have access to professional legal advice that can be very useful in disputing debts or even proving that the debts being demanded are actually unlawful and can be written off.
