Kwik-Fit guarantees for brake pads

I've been told "Sir, your front dampers need replacing.." and it was simply NOT the case. I would never ever ever use this company, special offer or not. I do not trust their ethics.

Do you really think the others big non dealler names don't do the same!!!
Even main dealers do this, I had a main dealer try it on, we all have war stories.

The post was about the guarantee and not about recommendations for extra work that I believe Kwik Fit are no worse than anyone else at doing. To suggest that Kwik Fit have a company policy to recommend work that is not needed and that's the only reason they do this offer is preposterous.

Quality of pads, the OP already said they came from the main dealer so are the same!

Its true there is no such thing as a free lunch but when you consider brakes should last about 25,000 miles (mine were replaced at 17,000 miles and I was told that's really low) most people would have changed their car before they need to use the guarantee.

If you work the maths: If you buy car with new pads, you then do 25,000 miles and have Kwik Fit put new pads in its then another 25,000 miles (50,000 miles in total!) before you can use the guarantee and not that many people keep a car that long.

I have nothing to do with Kwik Fit, but just have family experience this is a very good offer if and only if you keep your car for a long time or do very high miles
