Transfer Suppliers: In Credit Balance 'Transfer' ?
I guys, I wonder if you can help me...
I am in the process of moving from NPower to Scottish Power, it has taken a few months already. I recieved the final electricity bill more than a month ago, they took a small amount to settle that account, which is fine.
Now I also finally (after 3 phone calls) i have recieved a final gas bill from NPower. I knew that I had overpaid previously on the gas account, so NPower owes me about about £160. However on this final bill there are two items on it which just say 'transfer' against them, one is for £100 and the other for £80. After these are subtracted, instead of them oweing me £160, i now owe them £12 !!!
I have checked my bank account and i have not been credited any money from NPower.
So my question is...Is this 'transfer' actually them sending money to Scottish Power?? Or is should I expect to get a refund of this money into my bank account in a few days time??
Thanks for you help...I could not find any useful information about this on either of the NPower or Scottish Power's websites.

Anything involving NPower and billing I'd watch like a hawk!
I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.:cool:0 -
They can't send your money to another supplier.
You should find it transferred to your bank, or receive a cheque(s)0 -
It's not allowed to transfer credit unless you have a PP meter and you paid on another Suppliers card in error.
Would you really trust 2 utilities managing it anyway? Get a cheque.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
