please excuse me if this sounds daft...I need to paint my garden fence as it has been ignored for years and being lazy i decided to use an electric sprayer. I have never done this before and i want to ask how can you make sure that non of the paint falls into the neighbour garden when you spray especially when i spray the top of the fence...any advice will be much appreciated.

My brother did it at his house and managed to spray his neighbours washing which was hanging out to dry !
I on the other painted my fences by hand - and have no problems with my neighbours!
(I also find that painting with a brush leaves a better finish.)0 -
Hi
I have used one on my fence. It was very fast compared to a brush and in my opinion a better finish....BUT i did have problems with overspray even with my wife holding a large piece of card behind the fence. I suppose it realy depends on what is the other side of the fence.0 -
I was going to use a broom and wallpaper tray next time. I thought that might be the quickest. Just a thought.0

not used it myself, yet, but hate painting fences by hand - am giving this a go next time:

HTH!if it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.0 -
Be warned. Tiny miniscule droplets of paint WILL be carried in the air. You will not avoid paint landing on whatever is around you.
Imo, these types of sprayers are ideal for detached houses with acreage surrounding them. People with neighbours should not use them, it's a recipe for disaster.

We used paint sprayer. Very quick and excellent result. We covered concrete posts with newspaper first and used a large piece of board to shield plants (you really need two people on the job - one to spray one to guard).
Our fence is on our land with the original boundary fence still in place. Our neighbours are pig ignorant and plant bushes and trees which have wrecked our fence. They refuse to keep them cut back and as such have managed to break most of our fence panels and displace the concrete posts. Therefore I didn't give a s**t about spraying their plantsStill waiting for their complaints (3 months later). I am totally fed up with cutting their hedges just to keep my garden tidy. Also if they cut the tops of their hedges they push the cutting over onto our lawn. Upshot is if your neighbours are a pain - spray your fence
(wish their washing line was closer!!)

We have the cuprinol sprayer and its great. You could cover plants in dust sheets of cheap sheet of polythene and if you want to keep your neighbours happy, offer to do the same for their plants. dont spray it a different colour to your neighbours side tho as it will dribble through a bit-yes, Im a considerate neighbour!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
