wow, am i glad of this vent board...
if you're tempted to buy some TICKETMASTER theatre/event tokens for a gift, then think again.
i got £80's worth of ticketmaster vouchers from whs as a pressie.
to redeem them, here's what i had to do:
-send them back to whs.
- chase whs for the receipt of my now 'activated' vouchers. (4 weeks)
- ring ticketmaster to book my show.
- read out NINE individual sixteen-digit numbers, corresponding to my vouchers' bar codes (for some reason, my £80 came in denominations of £10's and £5's.
- repeat the process, as the operator thought they were all £10 vouchers.
- ring customer services to finish the outstanding amount on my credit card, as the vouchers "hadn't quite worked".
- naturally, all the calls to Ticketmaster involved an 0870 number (yes, i checked for a landline!!) and a hefty wait, listening to Air muzak or announcements about Eminem.
...the operators were perfectly nice and reasonably efficient, but the whole process was a total, blood-pressure raising pain.
(i insist on my right to sweat the small stuff!!)
