Open Office text size help

Hi, I was working on my dissertation which I have split into different documents for each chapter. I just opened up the document for my introduction, it's in Microdoft Word Format (.doc) and when I attempt to add any text to the end of the last part I was working on the text is tiny but is showing in the toolbar as being the standard Times New Roman, size 12, but in fact in order to make it the same size as the rest (TNR, size 12) i'm having to increase the font size to 22, any ideas why this is happening and how to sort it?

  • Never seen this before and I've been using Open Office on Windows & Linux for around 5 years now. I would save the word doc as a .odt file. Close it and re-open it in the new format.
