Natwest Charge Reclaiming *** Are they scared ***

Ok so this morning I get a letter from natwest advising me that if I wish to i can apply for a monthly management fee option.
For the outlay of a monthly £10.00 I can have the charge for going overdrawn (or over my overdraft) reduced from £28.00 (which i believed to be the current amount) to £17.00 per item. This "generous" offer will ensure the same action for
Maintenance Charges
Unpaid Item Fees,
Paid Referral Fees and
Guaranteed Card Payment Fees.
This sounds to me as though their trying to cover themselves for future charge issues or attempting to make an effort with customers to impress the judge handling the reclaim case.
But then I recently checked my bank account ( and will admit to going overdrawn by £7.81 ) and found to my surprise that there was unpaid item fee of £38.00. So considering it was £28.00 that also means they've put the fee up.
Also if we the masses do go overdrawn just once and get the charge then even with the £10.00 monthy management we will still be paying almost the orignal £28.00 for the charge we had before.
So in easy maths anyone who goes overdrawn once and had the charge of £28.00 would now pay £27.00 for the same thing a whole £1 saving.
Let me know what you think anyway personally I think we need someone who looks like this bloke. :money:Can't remember his name lol. to check it out

Do you know you are the first one who has had that letter that I have read on the forums. I reported that account option about 3 months ago on the NatWest forum which I am a team member of and finally the reality is here. Personally, I think you should probably review yourself your DD's and SO's on your account and check to make sure you are not paying out for silly things like for example mobile phone insurance(policy Admin Services). Martin recently had an article about doing so. I would look and see if you can cut any expenditure to avoid the £28 maintenance charges, which means you are exceeding the limit. If the charge itself is causing the issue and nothing else then it may be worth popping into your local branch and speak to someone, explain the situation and ask them to waive the one due at the end of this month if it is charges on charges causing the Maintenance Fee to be triggered. I'm not saying they will but it could help.0
