Alliance & Leicester ISA question

I would like to open an A&L Isa for 08/09. It will only let me pay in £3k, instead of the new amount ... anyone got any ideas why? Many thanks.

Have you actually tried to do this already? The new tax year hasn't started yet, if so.Debbie0

You won't be able to pay in for the 08/09 year until Monday, so it won't let you transfer more than £3k until then. And if you do it before monday it will bounce it back if you've filled up your 07/08 allowance already, so wait a day or two

I opened a new ISA with A & L last week (for the new tax year 08/09), was told I'll be able to put 3600 in starting Monday :beer:0

Thanks all. Seems obvious now you've said it, but the opening page on the A&L application form is unclear on the point! And thanks for clarifying the new amount, as I wasn't sure about that either.
