I't just not working!!! i can get it so i can sort of view the desktop, but ont the icons on it or anything you do.
any ideas guys? the other halfs laptop has a little icon in the little box on the right for graphics and you click that and his works fine!!
any ideas what settings i can change as we have had it working before:o

Go into display settings from control panel (then personalize settings if using Vista) and there may be a setting to switch to using 2 monitors0

tried that, that's what gets it half working, but not showing the desktop icons and stuff, but thanks for trying to help!!

It sounds like you're using extended desktop mode. If you just want to duplicate your desktop on the TV screen, try using mirrored mode instead:
Right click on desktop--> Properties --> Settings --> click the blue rectangle with the number 2 (which represents the external monitor) --> untick the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor box.
or just press FN + function key to switch between display modes.The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -

thankyou, i will try this tonight. i did click box 2 but i ticked the extend box, so hopefully this will work.
