Virign Media Box and a Splitter

Options
If I have a Virign socket in my lounge with a cable coming off it going into a splitter then from the splitter I have one cable going into my lounge Virgin box then the other cable going to my bedroom splitter.
Would i be able to watch different things in the different rooms?

Would the quality be less by using the splitter?

you mean just a plain aerial splitter? or a virgin cable for fitting to another virgin box?

    Bit confused by your post.

Your VM box has an RF out that you can plug into a tv ariel socket & you can watch the same program the VM is tuned in to.

Unless your talking about the Nokia D box.........................

I have one cable in to the house through VM. At the moment i have my VM box connected to it and that connected to my TV - as per usual. If I was to connect a spliter (Which gives two connections off it) to the cable and run one to my VM box and the other to a addional box (So they are in parallel).

Would both boxes work and would both boxes be able to show different channels?

    Cheers.

    Hmmm...

In theory, yes, but you'd probably need to have the box enabled (ours has a card in it), and Virgin will probably want to charge you a monthly subscription charge in return.

Last I checked, a second VM box cost £10 per month on top of the normal charge you pay, so even if it does work I don't think it would be allowed necessarily.

Although I'd be interested to find out!

That's how cable do it themselves.

However the only way you'd get a box yourself and not from Cable is if they are stolen property (they remain the property of cable) or you have found another supply or you are using certain other boxes.

The only way without involving cable would be by way of illegally watching the programmes on the other box on a modified for theft box.

Just contact cable and pay for the 2nd box.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    Agreed,

Pay the tenner and get VM to put you a second box in.

The 'dodgy' ones of flea bay have there return path signal turned off so they cant 'dial home' and the dont work for very long.

If you have V+ Box and are on TVXL I think the additional boxes are only a fiver a month.
