Sky broadband problem

I am not sure why, but during the last week or so I am having problems with my Sky broadband connection, it is absolutely fine during the day and early evening, but from 9pm onwards it seems to either slow down or I lose connection completly, anyone know this is / and more importantly is there anything I can do about it.

Up until last week I have found Sky to be very good

may be clashing channels with another wireless device/router in a nearby house

if you go into the router control panel you can change from Automatic to manual, try a few different channels to see how you get on

type http://192.168.0.1 into your web browser. A pop-up screen will ask you to enter username and password. Defaults are 'admin' for the username and 'sky' for the password.

under the wireless settings somewhere will be an option to change the channel

Unlikely if it is at the same time everyday.

Do Sky start throttling (sorry, I mean bandwidth shaping) at 9pm?

ok, ive found the wireless settings, but it doesn't give you the option to change from 1-6 etc, you get a choice of 1 channel from 1-13, is there any chance my network will go tits up if I do this?

Is it the router to internet thats loosing connection or the router to PC. What OS are you running? What router is it (the white or black one?) Does it only get fixed with a pc restart??

    Ok, technical idiot

PC says signal strength excellent- limited access

I then restart and its ok for a short while, but not long before it starts playing up again, but as I say, its generally fine during the day.

    Its a netgear router (white)

OS- guessing you mean operating system- Vista

Click on your wireless ICON in the bottom right taskbar and it should show you details including if the connection to the internet is ok. Have you tried to hard wire it instead of using wireless to see if that solves the problem???
