Does it cost me if I call a virgin landline and it goes to voicemail?

My nan's just gone over to Virgin and I tried to ring her today and it went onto a voicemail a bit like when you call a mobile. Do I get charged extra for it connecting to voicemail? Thanks

It will be counted as a chargeable call by your network provider unless you have inclusive landline minutes. You dont pay any extra though just the standard connection and call charge as it would be if answered by a human being.0

If the latter, can you remember after how many rings (someone mentioned last year VM had got a bit crafty and had reduced the number of rings before voicemail cut in down to three)?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I just set my Virgin Landline up for their free voicemail service. I had a bright thought after reading the previous posts, which was 'after how many rings does the phone go to voicemail?'. I phoned Virgin to find out and a nice man, who I could clearly understand, told me that the free service went to voicemail after 5 rings but the paid one could be set to any number of rings up to 20. As I am a bit 'dodgy' on my legs, I asked him to remove it!To Dare is To Do:beer:0

Pleased to hear you removed the nasty service that is voicemail, now if only everyone else would too. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
