Can I transfer btwn a/c types within A&L

Hi,

Just looking at moving my savings around to get better interest rates.
Can't get through to A&L today so thought I might try here.

I have a directsaver a/c - currently paying 5.75 AER (var)

Their esaver a/c is paying 6.5% AER (var) until May 2009

Am I allowed to simply open an esaver a/c and transfer the balance over?

Thank you.

I think you'll find it has to pass through your nominated current account. Max £25000 per day on the internet

If you phone them up and threaten to remove all the funds you will be passed through to second level who offer to move it directly into the eSaver without going through the linked account.
