HELP - GAS supplier not billing?

Yes sounds great not being billed for gas but we moved in here approx 3 months ago. It's a brand new build so the builder told us who the house is with British gas for gas and swalec for electricity.

Phoned up BGas who say the house does not exist on their system.....gave them the serial number from the gas box outside and they say they do not supply the house. Phoned up ...National grid??? but they say the house does not exist. Spoke to builder who said phoned BG gave them his readings/ and gave our names to bill us but heard nothing since?
Can they just send us a backdated bill?
Any help please?

I'd keep on at the builder.

I would also put £xxx aside for when the bill does come in, so you don't have to find loads of money in one go.

Good luck in sorting it out, I am sure others will be along soon with more advise.

If National Grid say you do not exist the builders may have used an Independant Gas transporter which although cheaper for them is a nightmare for customers. If the builder has indeed done his work correctly ask him for your Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN). You will then be able to track down your supplier. It may also be that your house is registered as a plot number. Your builder should be able to advise.
