Not entirely sure but if I was doing that with mine I'd take a very healthy off shoot and put it in a jar of water in my cool back room, removing excess leaves, probably take the leaf shoots back to about 3 pairs of leaves to reduce necessity for leaf upkeep so it could concentrate on roots. If this works you should start to see roots forming before 4 weeks.
Then plant up!
i have one that got to 10 feet tall and I had to take it back to about 5 feet. The plant has just flourished! So if you do try this it wont harm the mother lode

You could take softwood cuttings now.
Take the top 6" off strong stems and remove lower leaves leaving the top 2 pairs either place in water or good quality compost. The other option if you have any stems growing near the bottom is layering. Peg them down and leave to root over the summer then cut from the mother plant late summer.
Good luck0
