Banks again

I posted a rant a while ago about bad experiences at LloydsTSB and Barclays due to incompetence by staff. Grrr, here's another one.
I wanted to transfer an ISA to Northern Rock so filled in the online form and sent it off. Got letter from former provider to say that transfer had been made. Then got a letter and another application form from NR person asking me to call as there was a problem. Tried to call my contact but after being passed from one customer rep. to another, each time asking for ID (it was April Fools Day), I gave up and wrote a letter. Then got a letter back asking me to fill in the new form which I did.
This morning I got another letter with another form saying, sorry we (NR)made a mistake, please fill in latest form. Latest form was the one I filled in originally.
So I've had three recent dealings with banks all crocked up as a result of staff incompetence. If this experience is extrapolated, there must be millions of crocked up transactions going on and million of hours being wasted sorting them out.
Is it me or is my paranoia getting worse?

Given the poor service you've had just opening an account with Northern Rock, are you really sure you still want to bank with them?0
