What a horrible man. As others have said, phone the police every time he's there, and please start a diary which logs every interaction you have with this man - it will be useful evidence should you need to file a case of harrassment - and in the meantime if I were you I'd start looking for another place to live as soon as you can. Nothing is more important than your family's safety.

I'm really sorry you are going through this.

    Duplicate thread, see here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=840217

Lots more replies/advie on that one.

Maybe one of the board guides could get the two merged?

Yeah i kind of pressed enter on the site twice and i cant seem to get rid of the other one with more peoples adivce on it!

To be honest with you all as from lastnight me and my partner have been looking online on the gumtree in my familys local area and we will be doing extra long shifts to cover for a new place down there i have my 2 parents looking and properties for me as i speak and i want to let you all know that i have just had enough and its not fair on a fourteen year old girl at the end of the day.

My lord i have to say though i feel so sorry and worried about diamond87 and her six year old son who have to face that fowl smell all of the time with a landlord sky high in debt that you have no chance of getting your deposit back. But by law you have to because you have made no damages to the property and he didnt complete repairs... which im sure your local council and enviromental health could back up your case quite a bit because of all the stress that landlord has caused you could put him in more debt but not your problem!

We have estimated that we should now be out in about a month fingers crossed! There is no chance of us ever getting our deposit back because you can just tell that this thing of a landlord just isnt the type of guy you can bargain with... well kicking up a huge argument and verballing abusing us because we said that we was in contact with child services and the CAB THEN had the cheek to tell the police that HE suggested that before he came round!

sorry to be cheeky but... yeah just if anyone knows of anywhere in the bedford or northampton area to let our max budget is £500 but can stretch to £550 because of the importance please sent me a message ty people im going to have a happy look now thank you all so much for your help and i will keep you all updated if anything happens!

Thanks hun for your support.Environemental health have to follow the procedures and are now in process of writing him another letter which will give him a few weeks to reply to the letter. So he is still getting away with not doing the hazard 1 which is the front door.My son cant go in the garden as its full of rubbish, dead animals bones and jaws, broken glass, car batteries, tree branches, furniture, you name it is in the garden. He wont do it coz he says it will cost him £170 to hire a skip. It took him 3 months to sort out the drainage. We have no smell now but its still infested with mice and moths. The moths go in our food, its just horrible. But It doesnt make me a priority with the council as I am renting privately.I am due to start studying in less than 3 weeks so I am determined to get out of here by then.I too look on gumtree and have placed adds which is what you need to do. I have tried to stand up for myself with the landlord but I am not going to risk him being abusive to me again in front of my son. My previous council paid the deposit so I know he will not give it back but the council I am with now will get involved as It is not my money. I would never damage property so he has no reason not to pay it back. This may be wrong but I am thinking of not giving him his last months rent so I can use that as a deposit. After all he has made our living conditions unbearable. Not long ago he got followed while he was driving his car and he claims someone took his car keys out his pocket and his car got stolen.I asked if the keys to the flat was on it but he did not answer me. I told him I wanted him to change the locks as they have never been changed even when ppl lived here before. So even more reason for me to go and leave this place behind.
You will find somewhere soon I promise, just dont give up hope and keep trying gumtree and put your own add on there too.Look on loots website, trovit homes and your local paper.Keep us updated on how you get on. all the best and good luck xx

Well I have now told my fourteen year old to phone if he even turns up at the door because he will just walk in and she is scared of just the sight of him... I do worry about her the most as he is nothing but a big bully.
We are starting up a diary aswell starting from the crime reference numver and the things said on sunday evening of course. we brought a book in town today and have dated and written sundays doings in it already. we have also made an appointment with CAB which is next monday, and we see our child worker every wednesday and we are going to ask to see if they will help us move out into a council house back down south just all have to wait and see
He believes men are higher than women. We should be seen and not heard type of thing. Unfortunatly I dont work like that i am not only seen but heard aswell :rotfl: which makes him hate me even more. If i have an opinion i will make myself heard. Yeah he jsut ignored me and carried on speaking to my partner and i did say ''Excuse me EXCUSE ME EXCUSE ME can i just say something...'' Yep i got evils for the c**t and told him what i had to say though it went straight through and he said that he didnt care and that my partner is on the agreement and not me so he doesnt want to listen to me. Well in this month is going to be Hell now for him because he only contacts MY mobile so when he texts or calls i will just reply ''You have to contact the person on the agreement to access the house i cannot give you any premission... My god i am going to make his life hell lol but he deserves it... doesnt he lol.. At the end of the day that is the game he wants to play i am going to play it. But then if he doesnt listen and comes into the house... dont forget that we have changed the passcode on the house so he cant turn off the burgler alarm so we will know if he comes in once again! as i said though i am going to keep everyone upto date with the tricks of him.. we will be gone soon and i will tell moving dates aswell! im so excited! hee hee :rotfl: :T :rotfl: :A

Well to be honest with you diamond78 your landlord sounds alot worse than mine! If you got in touch with child services and stated what conditions your son was living in because of this thing of a landlord they should support you not to get another private rented home but a council property.

I dont blame you for not paying him your last months rent because we arent either. Also leaving the house empty! {it came part-furnished!) because our fourteen year old needs a bed we need two wardrobes and 2 chest of drawers {the C**p ikea sofas are staying} dining table and chairs are going... coffee table is going all in the middle of the night about 2 days before the next months rent is due! it has to be middle of the night because it just so happens that he has a best mate own the shop at the bottom of the road who also keeps a close eye on us... So ha we are going hit him hard... I did suggest to my partner to change the locks again before we go but he said that it wouldnt be as fun because we wouldnt be there to see it lol
