Talk Talk Itemised Billing Charges

Less then a year ago CD said

"With today's announcement we're demonstrating yet again that our intention is always to offer better value than BT*," says Charles Dunstone, CEO, The Carphone Warehouse. "It seems odd that BT has deserted its heartland in this way. With nearly a third of homes in the UK not connected to the internet we think it's unfair to levy a charge for a paper bill on customers who may not have any way of avoiding it."

Yet from 17th of April 2008 if you wish to receive your Talk Talk bill by post there will be a £1.25 charge on top of your monthly line rental. So ditching your paper bill is a little greener and saves you money. The change in your line rental will show up on your next bill.

Quite. Also where now his "free broadband forever" blog, that seems to have vanished along with his credibility (or at least any he had to begin with).

    Well, well, well. £1.25.

Now remind me again what discount BT offers for those opting for paper-free billng ..........

Shouldn't TT's now be £1.26 to make them 'always cheaper than BT' then?

    Or do I mean £1.24?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I guess this is now the way of the world.
A lady solicitor lost her case last week regarding getting charged for not using DD for her BT bill.
Paper billing is the next easy charge and it`s only a matter of time before the utility companies cotton on and do the same.
