Considering selling my laptop!

I don't really use my laptop anymore, I've kind of kept it as a spare incase my PC goes wrong. I'm about to move house so am trying to declutter so thought it would be a god item to sell.
I was going to put it on eBay, but wondered whether restoring it to factory settings would be enough to make sure nobody could find anything I had on there?
It's an old Sony Vaio (PCG FR495EP) so I doubt I'll get much for it, do you think it's even worth selling?
Thanks for any advice in advance!

You need to reformat the whole thing using the installation discs. Even that won't guarantee a complete clean, but it's good enough for most people.Happy chappy0

The fact that it has a Celeron processor lets it down I'm affraid, single core low spec processors like Celeron and AMD dont hold much of a place in todays world, you may get it sold to a student or the like who cant afford to be choosey, you may fetch £150 - £250 max for it unless you hit lucky and a Celeron supporter buys it.MissMuppet wrote: »I don't really use my laptop anymore, I've kind of kept it as a spare incase my PC goes wrong. Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
I'd be happy with £150 to be honest, do you think eBay would be a good place to sell it, or maybe FreeAds or something?
Thanks for the reformatting advice, I'll do that... I don't have any sensitive information on there anyway, I would just rather it be as clean as it can be when I sell it.

Ebay will be the best place to sell, place a starting bid for around £99 and see where it goes, it's up to you of course, good luck and happy selling.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want?
