We moved to a house that needed a fair bit of work doing whilst DS was a tiny baby, never again with a child of that age. DIY/builders and baby/toddler is an absolute nightmare and more stress than it has been worth really and I regret being in so much chaos whilst DS was small, we didn't make the most of things as we were always too busy with the house.

I think you need to take on board what your wife is saying, which is more along the lines of she is feeling the idea of coping with a baby/toddler and having to renovate the house sounds a bit much atm, which is fair enough really. So if you do get something that needs work on, maybe go for something that can be done at your leisure, things get much easier when they get older - DS was actually very helpful painting the garden wall yesterday and is beginning to earn his keep now !.

Good afternoon: We'd go with the renovation project everytime (helps tremendously that my OH is multi-trade and I enjoy planning and demolition) He says I'm always right;)
