Hi
Has anyone had experience with a reliable video file converter software capable of converting mkv format to divx? What can you recommend

As MKV is only a container not an A/V format i shall presume its probably in H264 .
Gspot will tell you the actual codecs involved ( its free)
Transcode H264 and many other avi files to other formats i use the Open Source ( thats free) Media Coder

I transcode i my video files for storage to H264 as it improves the quality . Later i recode individual video to whatever format i require DVdD Xvid I pod etc .

^^^ Mediacoder is a great bit of kit, I use it all the time.

Another good one to try is Super. It does just about any format you can think of. The interface isn't as polished as some, but it's very powerful.
