MFI Installations also Q about dishwasher plumbing

Options
Hi all,

Am about to order my kitchen from MFI. Now please no mfi bashing .. im only buying it cos im using tesco deals vouchers and its going to be a steal.

Question is has anybody had any experience with MFI Installers ... good ....bad ... any info would be great ... also do they use local contracters or do they have their own installation teams?

Now for the dishwasher Q ... What plumbing do i need to install for a d/w? Hot and Cold . ... is it the same fittings as a washing machine? etc

Thanks in advance

fittings are usually the same as for a washing machine. however whether you will need both a hot and cold water feed will depend on the dishwasher you have bought, i don't think all require both, although most do. however it makes more sense to install both a hot and cold feed if you are installing one anyway

I had an MFI kitchen installed a few years ago and it's still rock solid. The guy that did it did a great job but he did take a long time (took 7 days and finished at 9.30pm on last day). It is quite expensive too (about £1300 for mine) as getting a chippie in to do it might be a cheaper option (about £850 i've since been quoted) if you haven't got to move electrics and plumbing. Bear in mind that they are not "MFI fitters". They have a contract to fit the kitchens within their region with MFI so you are looking at their cost (with it's mark up) and MFI's mark up.
If I was looking to replace my kitchen again I'd get an independent firm to do it just to save the money.
  • Thanks for the info ... the thing is im using deals vouchers from buying roast beef from tesco ... so technically the £1200 cost is only actually costing me £400 ish and i dont think i'd get an independant to beat that price!
