4.19% Fixed for 2 years at Hinkley and Rugby

Just found the following, which may be of some use to someone. This is by far the best 2 year fixed rate deal I have found. It's at the HINCKLEY & RUGBY BS

Its 4.19% for 2 years

The arrangement fee is£499. However there are No HLC, no valuation & for remortgages free legal fees.

There also seems to be absolutly NO redemption tie ins.....

Sounds too good to be true - Anyone gone with them before?

It's not too good to be true, you just can't borrow very much by the looks of it - 3 times salary.

Might be worth looking at if you're remortgaging, I guess.

But I've never heard of them.

Also, they're not a national firm, so they might have restrictions on who they take onto their books

They're quoted in today's best buys in the Mail on Sunday, so they're certainly legit.

Yes I went to them over a year ago and have really found them the most responsive BS i' ve ever come across. I have a flexible mortgage with them. I live down in Herts near the big smoke so they are all over I believe. I have never come across such bright, courteous help on the phone. HRBS are often near the top of the best buys for long term variable/flexible offers in the quality press. They are not flash, just doing a good job for those who want mortgages which are sound products. They rarely advertise and are a traditional BS.

Does anyone know how long it takes to actually switch mortgage providers?

My current mortgage ends on 1st September and I want my new one to start then.

Is a week long enough to switch from 1 provider to another?

    @ ramit

You should allow between 4 - 6 weeks for a re-mortgage - it can happen quicker but better to look at these timescales

  • For anybody looking for a 2 year fixed rate this is a cracking deal and it should be included in their comparisons! Unfortunately, I suspect it won't be around long though.

You spoke too soon! I saw the deal on the website yesterday ( http://www.hrbs.co.uk/index4.htm) and now it seems to have disappeared!
I did request details, do you think i will be able to switch?

Gosh, looks that way! but it's still showing as a live product on their intermediary site.

Whats the 'intermediary site'? Now that it is no longer available, I am even more convinced it is the right product for me!

You're right Zian, I was on that site last night and I'm *sure* they offered a 2 yr fixed at 4.19.

    Must have been dreaming.

Or sounds to me that, after they were listed in the mail on sunday for the first time, they were deluged.

Their intermediary website is http://www.hrbsintroducer.co.uk it's only for introducers.

Even though they've pulled the details of the scheme off their website they still have some funds available (very limited though!!!)
