What kind of bed do I need to attach a wooden headboard to?

I've seen a fab headboard, but am unsure what bed type I'd need to attach it to? Please help :)

You can attach it to a divan base. The headboard should have "legs" with slots and it gets bolted/screwed into the divan base. We've just had a new bed base and put the old headboard onto it - well hubby did as you've probably guessed from the way I'm trying to describe how to do it!
  • Hi,

have a look at these legs, as you can see, you can adjust the height, leg width is standard,

headboards are all much the same, unless getting something enormous, though I would think that there would just be extra legs.

How do you fit legs to a water bed? :rotfl:

You can also attach the headboard to the wall, we had one made and did this as it was very heavy.
  • It is this headboard. As you can see, it dosen't show how it attaches to a bed.

I love it, but don't want to take the risk and find it's of no use. I've always bought a complete bed frame, never just the headboard, so have no experience of them.
  • Hi,

looks good, I'd be wanting the lot for that price. :rotfl:

As I said above, all headboards are standard sizes nowadays, have a look at your own bed and it will be same as the picture above.

You have 14 days to return it, and returns are free, so might as well go for it.

We always do this as they always work loose from the back of the bed. No more creaky headboards:o ;) and they can be taken off for decorating.

Any standard UK sized headboard should fit the corresponding size divan bed. Most divan bases actually come with the headboards bolts already fitted.

That's ok if you never want to move the bed at all.
