Your stocks and shares increase would depend on the investmentsyou selected. Over the last three years, collective funds have had wildly different performances, ranging from negative returns to 100%+. It entirely depends on how you pick the stocks!

Yikes! That's some window of opportunity! I was really looking for an average based on life experiences but I appreciate this isn't very easy! :rotfl:

I haven't been investing for 3 years yet, but when I have I'll let you know ;)

  • Guess I should be happy with my 13% increase then really! Seems all very concerning this S&S thing from reading these forums for the past month... Maybe it's because I'm not in the S&S 'world' as I'm okay with maths in general :)

Well, these last 6 months have been about the worst time for investors in several years, so it's no surprise that people are talking about the recent drops. However, all it means to the long term investors is that now's a better time to be buying than 6 months ago ;)

    Thanks people.

I spoke to the bank. They only put in £110.03 - which was an error.
They added in an extra £48.53. Bringing the total to £158.56.

The amount going in was £250 on the 1st of every month for 12 months.

It sounds like you had a 12% regular saver, not the 10% one you stated in your OP (which would also tie in with your 9.6% net statement).

Meaning the £110.03 was based on 8% or something similar? Maybe set up as the wrong rate regular saver?
