CC in credit?

I have a HSBC credit card account (no credit card, I was asked to return it in 2001).

The account has had a £28.99 credit on it since September 2003. Up until December 2004 the statements used to come and stated that my credit limit was £0. Since then the credit limit has been showing as £1000, as it was before they asked me to cut up my card.

2 questions, 1, I have a semi bad credit rating. Would it be worth writing to them and requesting a new card.

2, Should I just write to them and ask for the credit (plus interest if it is payable) and ask them to close down the account.

I pressed the "thanks" button instead of the quote button, lol. Anyway I'll try to help you with your questions!

    1. If you say you have a 1000 pounds credit limit then technically you should be able to request a card from HSBC.

    2. If you fail to obtain a card from them then you have the right to request the credit in your CC account to be returned to you.

There shouldn't be any problem getting a credit card from HSBC again if your account and relationship with the bank has been well maintained.
