Can I split landscape PDF page in half to print as two portrait pages?

Adobe Reader 8.x
Hi,
When it comes to PDFs, I'm a complete novice, having only ever read them and not created any.
I have a PDF catalogue, where each landscape page consists of two of the catalogue's portrait-shaped pages side by side, and would like to be able to split these pages, vertically, into separate, single catalogue pages for printing. I don't wish to create a new PDF of this catalogue, simply print each of the catalogue's pages individually.
Is this possible?
Thanks.

View, page layout, single (not facing).
File, print, page scaling, fit to printer margins (muck about until it works).
Check the auto rotate stuff.0 -
I've found a way of achieving what I want - although it is a bit of a clart.
I've rotated the pages, in Adobe Reader, by 90 degrees (clockwise or counter-clockwise) and increased the magnification in %age increments until each catalogue page (the top or bottom half of each PDF 'page') fills my screen (or as much as it can), taken "Print Screen" screen-grabs and pasted each of them in to a separate Word page, where I've trimmed them and, now, just need to print them.
I had thought I'd be able to "right-click" copy each PDF page and paste them in to Word, enabling me to keep the detail of the content of each page.
As it is, the "screen-grab" and paste has meant I've lost some of the detail. When I magnify the PDF pages, I see the document contains a lot of fine detail - amounting to 4 MBs over 20 pages.
Any alternative suggestions would be great.0 -
Check your PRINTER options - many of them allow you to print 2 pages per page0

Hi AlanRowell,
What I want to do is the reverse: print half a PDF page, per page.
Each PDF page consists of two catalogue pages, which when printed on a single A4 sheet, are too small to read. I'd like to split each PDF page into the two constituent catalogue pages so I can print each individually. Each catalogue page would then occupy a whole A4 page and not half an A4 page.
Thanks, anyway.0 -
I had this same problem and found this on the Internet. I found a better solution, I believe, so I decided to post it here as a token of my appreciation for the received help.
I have W XP and a Lexmark X1270 printer. Within Adobe Reader, I gave these options:
-Print
-Print Range, pages from 14 to 34 (for example)
-When you choose Print Range, you are presented with the option to print more than one page in a single page. My pages were horizontal (landscape), so I choose
- Page Scaling: Multiple Pages per Sheet
- Pages per Sheet: Custom, 1 by 2
- Page Order: Vertical
This results in each printed page to have 4 original pages, since each page had two in the document, and I stated 2 pages to go in eadh printed sheet.
Then I went to properties, to define preferences for the printer (or maybe the printer software).
Now Lexmark gives the option to divide each page to by printed in 4. I went to Print Layout, and there I selected Poster, then 2x2 (4 pages).
And that's it. Ok takes you back to Adobe Reader, and ok prints each of the original pages in one sheet, just what I wanted.
Hope this helps new people with this problem.
Thank you,
Julio
