Can I connect my Sony Walkman to the iPod connector in the car?

I wondered if it's possible to buy an adaptor to change the connector to fit my Walkman? Or is that too simple and Apple really do have a monopoly?
You said it!!! Apple have a monopoly. The fact that the generic term for an MP3 player regardless of make is 'Ipod' doesnt help.
Does your car stereo have an AUX IN? You coudl use that. Otherwise, if you're handy with a soldering iron and can find out the pinouts for the Sony & Ipod connectors, you may be able to make an adaptor. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0 -
No aux in.
Just an ipod connector in the glove box. 0
