Can you cash a cheque which has no date?

I wrote a cheque out for this years ISA but I'm almost 100% sure I forgot to put the date on it. I was wondering if anyone knows if this cheque can be cashed.
I've read other posts which say the date is irrelevant (mostly to do with post dated cheques) however this is a little different as there is no date at all on the cheque.
Thanks.

I think if it gets past the original member of staff or the back end ISA cheque inputter person you will be fine as it is automated from then on in big machines.
The procedure for the ISA admin staff in head office will likely be to return the cheque though if they spot it.
Just hope the volumes will be too high, trainee, bored staff member or Friday afternoon.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

If the cashier didnt notice it or the staff where the cheque is received didnt, it will go through fine. I have known post dated cheques still be processed as the clearings machines dont check the dateFuture FirstDirect CSR // Current CCCS (Consumer Credit Counselling Service) Advisor // Past HSBC CSR (Branch)**Although I work for CCCS I am not an official company representative**0

Depends if it is returned on a technicality or not-if someone manually checks it, or the clearing machines pick up that there is a field missing, it may be returned but this is rare!Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
