Rough (riven/textured) or Smooth wall tiles for bathroom?

We are thinking of using the rough/textured ceramic wall tiles in our new bathroom (including shower area). We quite like the natural look of it.
Do you think they are quite difficult to keep clean and not so suitable for the bathroom as compared to the glossy smooth tiles?
Thanks!

I like the natural tiles but I think some of them need to be sealed. We went for some that have the natural look but are ceramic and matt.0

Our bathroom is tiled floor to ceiling with large smooth matt tiles. Don't go for glossy tiles, it'll feel like a public toilet.0

I like my glossy tiles and they do NOT look like a public toilet.
However, they do show every watermark so they're a pain to keep clean. Would have thought rough ones would be better in that regard.
Don't ever get smooth floor tiles - you'll go a&se over tit when you get out the shower.0 -
